My Blog Candy - Copics!!!

This will stay on top until drawing (March 12th) so please scroll down for my other posts.

I am coming up on my 6 month blogaversary (how the heck do you spell that??) I cannot believe it’s only been 6 months because I have had the joy of becoming friends with some of the greatest people in the world that feel like life long friends! (Well, you will be for the REST of my life, huh?)

I have been toying with an idea and I want your opinions on whether you think it would be a worthwhile venture.
I love to color. That simple sentence doesn’t even come close to describing it does it? If you have the coloring bug too then you know EXACTLY what I mean.  I am beginning to adore BOTH Copics and Prisma Colored pencils (my favorite being a hybrid using both). So here’s my question…
Would you like to see each project (when possible!!) colored in both mediums side by side? It would just be the close up shot, not two complete projects (geesh.. that really would make me nutty!!).
Here’s a few examples of what I mean:

btw, the ones on the left are copics, right are prisma colored pencils. And the Copic images were colored a long time ago so you notice I leave a lot more "shine" in my coloring now.
The blog candy is a set of the 12 new Copic Sketch markers.

These are not available for purchase yet but are supposed to start shipping in early March. So yay.... you will get your set when I get mine! I just got off the phone with my supplier and the demand for these is HUGE!! But believe me, I am a person of my word and if I have to send you a set before I can get them for myself, I will.
**Edit 2/24**
Got these ordered and an email saying they shipped today!!
**Edit 2/26**
Got them in my hot little hands!! They look amazing and I want to open them soooo bad!! But I promise, I won't ; )

It is open to all of my fellow DT’s and international bloggers.

For a chance to win all you have to do is:
1) Be, or become a follower
2) Post my candy in your sidebar with a link back to my blog candy post.
3) Once you do that please enter the draw using Mr. Froggy below.  Only one entry per person please.

Since I am looking for feedback your comments will be greatly appreciated but out of respect to my non english speaking friends it will not be a requirement for winning!

You will have until midnight on March 12th (my husbands birthday) to enter the draw (see linky widget below for remaining time to enter). I will randomly select and announce the winner on  March 13th.  I will also try to contact you by email, if you have an email associated with your blogger profile. If I don’t hear from you within 48 hours I will chose another winner.

Hi Dana
I love your work!! I am a follower. I also use Copics and Prisma Pencils, (because I am not good enough to just use the markers yet LOL) May I ask which color Prisma Pencils you use for your skin tones? Thanks in advance :) I love the idea of you displaying both mediums :)

Hi Dana - Congrats on your Blogoversary!!!

What a fabulous idea to show colouring in different mediums side by side - it's great to see the differences/similarities.
I mainly colour with Copics, but have a full set of Promarkers which I have to confess rarely see the light of day, which is a shame. Maybe I should use them more often.

Thanks for the chance to win some great Candy.

I'm bowled over with all your colouring. Seeing the 2 examples between the copics and prismas - wow what a difference. I'm still trying to better myself in the colouring skills and try to emulate those such as yourself. The examples side by side would, I think, def.help those like myself.

Hi, Dana! I just discovered your blog through a link on someone else's blog and I am soooo glad I did! I have recently started using Copics and am working diligently to perfect my style and technique. I have also used Prismacolor pencils, though my set is not large enough to achieve the richness and deptch of color you do. I love your idea of posting comparative examples using both media to color the same image. I am following your blog now and look forward to seeing a lot more of your work as soon I get time to explore! I just started my blog last week and would love it if you would visit me when you get a chance. I'm lucky enough to have some of both but can honestly say I've never achieved the results you have with either.
Thanks too for the chance to win the copics

A great blog Dana, and fabulous blogcandy. I have been thinking about trying the Prisma pencils, I have some Copic makers, but I'm still trying to learn how to use
them correctly. I have posted them on my blog, but not real blog savy either, so not sure if I have it right. I really appreciate you showing both mediums side by side.
Thank you very much for sharing and for the chance to win your great blog candy.

I'm not sure Dana, if you want me to wright in Icelandic or English lol
But I'll try your language :O)
I think it is fantastic to see the different between Copics and Prisma color pencils. I have once tried Copics a little bit but never Prisma. Neither of them is available in Iceland :O(
I will cross my fingers and hope I will be lucky :O)

I think there is a lot more detail in your Prisma coloring, but I like the brighter colors in the Copic coloring. So a mix of the two surely is the correct solution. I think it is very interesting to compare different coloring techniques on the same image, so if you can, that would be great to see more of these comparison in the future!
Thanks for a chance at the copics, your candy will be linked on my sidebar.

What a great prize, thanks for the chance to win! I have been playing around with the idea of replacing my ancient coloring tools with new ones, and couldn't decide what to go with. Seeing the images above, side by side, is a huge help! TY!

Wow, what an amazing giveaway! You are too generous! Thanks for the opportunity to win this candy..it would come in so handy since I'm relatively new to cardmaking and over the last month or two have already broken the bank trying to get everything I need...as you know, that's never-ending! I haven't gotten into Copics yet because I know that it's just another expensive addiction but, I can't resist...I'll be getting some copics as soon as I can afford it! I would love to see your projects done in prisma pencils and copics side by side...since I'm new to all this (I have never coloured a stamped image), it would be so helpful to see the difference between the two! Beautiful job on the colouring, btw!

I really love both images, they are each so unique and well done. The only one I have a preference in is the baby cowboy. The pic on the right is lighter and it gives the impression that the baby is outside with the sun shining on him.

What a wonderful idea. Putting Copic and Prima Marker side by side. I am fairly new to both of these and need tones of practice time. Needless to say my selection could use some additional colors.

I just discovered your blog. Now a follower, have bookmarked you so I can return, put your image in my sidebar and left a comment.

Your work is simply gorgeous!

Hi Dana, I am pretty new at the Copiecs, I've always used Derwent Pencils and Distress Ink, but I find the colours are to saturated for the D.I. and the Derwent don't give me the bold colours, so I just bought me a few Copis to try out. I like working with them but I'm still learning. Love your work, became a follower straight aways and keeping my fingers crossed to win this very generous candy. Hugs, Frea

I'm new to craft blogging & struggling to deal with the "following" idea - it (networked blogs) appears to require me to allow another 3rd party access to my blog info (which I can just about deal with) but then also to subscribe to a load of other blogs I've no interest in in the least. I'm uncomfortable with both these concepts as I'm very into my online privacy, and wonder why we can't just "like" your page on F/B instead? Forgive me - not trying to be rude in any sense, just not sure what the protocol requires in order to obtain a chance of winning some goodies. Thanks, Romayne (UK)
