One More Non Card Project

This is a project that I started before my daughter and grandson came for their visit. I just finished it over the weekend and wanted to share. Meet my dad and stepmoms dog, Abby.

We lost my dad last summer to Luekemia.  He took a pic of Abby out on their front porch during one of his last "good" days... if you can have a good day while in the throws of what he was dealing with.
As you can see, she is an amazingly beautiful dog! She's a King Charles Cavalier and was about 9 months old here. My step mom has just relocated back to St. Louis and has gotten all moved into her new house. I wanted to make this for her for a housewarming kind of thing. It means a lot to me because of the memory of being out on the porch with my dad, just enjoying the sun, birds and each other.

I colored this with Copics, a touch of Prismacolor Pencils (no OMS) and Copic opaque to add back in her whiskers.  I was especially thrilled with how her eyes turned out.
It was colored with mostly Cool Grays, B32, YR 20's, E70's and the background was airbrushed with YG91.
I transferred the picture of her using graphite paper. Also a note if you ever try a project like this, add the Copic opaque before you do any pencils lines with Prisma's. You can see if you look closely that the pencil acted as a resist for the Opaque.
Thanks for looking and now I'll head back to cardmaking... mostly ; )
Hugs~
