Squigglefly "Scraps"

It's Monday so that means it's a fresh, new challenge for you at Squigglefly!!
It's my teams turn at bat to inspire you with our projects so you can run over to the store, pick up a stamp and join us in our challenge!!
Our challenge this weeks is "Scraps". Use up some of the odd bits laying around. Here's what I came up with:
I love this image!! It's called "Small Friendship"  by artist Cheryl Alger. My scraps are those circles of the blue and white checked paper that I punched with a 1/2" circle punch and then glued to the back of my image panel to make it look like a nestie shape. That flourish has literally been sitting in a dish on my desk for months. I had die cut it and it is such a bright green I've just never used it. But it goes well with these bright, vivid blues.
Here's a close up:

She was colored with Copics. I've misplaced my list so lets see how close I can come by memory:
Skin: E00, E000 and R20
Hair: E17, YR24, Y21
PJ's: B04, B02, B00
Ottoman: R22, R20, YR28, Legs...not sure, but obviously something in the E's ;p
Cheese: Y17, Y11
Rat/Mouse: E74, E70, R02

The papers are a from a few different digi sets at Stamp Fairy.
I think that's about it. Can't wait to see what you can do with some of your scraps! And right now there is a sale at Squigglefly on all of the St. Patrick's Day images.

Honey Bear

Our challenge for you this week at Digi Doodle Shop's Best is Spots and Stripes. What a fun challenge and I decided to do more of a "fun" image for a change. I think this guy is a real cutey!!

I made this for my daughter.. get it? Miss you.. honey?!! That ticket is also available at Digi Doodle Shop as a free download. It comes with multiple sayings and styles.
Honey Bear was colored with my Copics and I'm sorry I don't have my lists. But I have lots of pics and links to share. First here's a few close ups:

An angle shot to show you how the honey pot and bee's are popped up. I added a little Glossy Accents to the honey and bee's eyes. Their wings have some stickles added.

Here is a close up the dot background I created with my Copics. You can see how I do that in the video here.

This flower was made following Tracey's (my DDSB teamie) tutorial you can see here.  I cut these out of the same paper as my background and just outlined the edge of each petal with a copic marker (I think B04) to match it to the blue paper.

Glad you came by for a visit and I hope this will inspire you to pop over to the store, grab a digi (or three or four!!) and then head to the challenge and show us your stuff!

Punch It Up

That's our challenge for you this week at The Outlawz in the Prisma and other Mediums challenge. So pull out those punches and Die cuts and show us your stuff! Here's what I came up with:

She was colored with my Prismacolor Pencils, but remember, you DO NOT have to use Prismacolor brand. Use whatever pencils or  medium you have at hand, except your alcohol ink markers like Copics or Promarkers. We have a seperate challenge at The Outlawz just for those that starts on Fridays of each week. You can do traditional stamping, distressing, embossing.... anything!!
Ok.. back to my card. This is a compilation of two different stamps. The little girl is from Sugar Nellie and the frame is from Make It Crafty. The sentiment stamp is from Hampton Arts. I've been having a lot of fun recently adding my sentiments this way. I am so influenced by all the great tags and mini albums I see out there and I figured this is a great way to add a sentiment and not have it interfere with the main image.
Here's a close up:

She was colored with Prismacolor pencils and blended with Odorless Mineral Spirits (I use Mona Lisa).
I used my Oval and Scallop oval Nestie dies and the bottom punched panel was created using just the Cherish corner punch from Martha Stewart. I loved how that turned out!
I sure hope you'll gallop on over and join our group at The Outlawz. We are having a lot of fun and really getting to know one another since we can "discuss" and not just leave a comment. Remember, you do not have to color... but you know me. It's my passion!
Once you get to The Outlawz just click on Challenges at the top and the click on Thursdays - Prisma and Other Mediums.

One Crazy Stamper - Bernadette Watering Flowers

It's my turn at hopefully inspiring you to pop over to One Crazy Stamper (the challenge blog) and enter our Pink challenge that is still going on for the remainder of the month. You have a chance to win a $25 GC to One Crazy Stamper (the store)!! How fantastic is that when Lora carries such fantastic lines like Stampavie, Flourishes, CC Designs, Kraftin' Kimmie, Belles and Whistles and the list goes on and on!! Here's one of my all time fav's by Sarah Kay for Stampavie:

That's Bernadette with Flowers. Isn't she just precious? She was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copics. Here's a few close ups:

Here's a list of the Copics used:
Skin: E02, E00, E000, R20
Hair: E39, E35, E31
Shirt, Bow and Patches: R20, R22, R24
Jeans: B91, B93, B95
Watering Can: BV25, BV23, BV20
Rocks: E70, E71, E74
Greens and Flowers: YG63, YG11, Y04, B21
Sky: Custom blend.
You can watch my video to see how I do my backgrounds and clouds here. I still use "my" technique for doing clouds. I think they come out better than using the Airbrush system, but then again, I've not perfected that tool yet!

The paper is from Basic Grey and the punched panel (Martha Stewart) is accented with black pearls.

Dusk in Lovers Pavilion

I hope everyone has had a wonderful weekend. I just received news a little while ago that a good friend has lost her mother.  So it was with a very heavy heart that I spent the later part of the day coloring and praying.  I had printed out earlier in the day a compilation of two stamps. The Lovers Pavilion is from Make It Crafty and the little angel is from Crafts and Me (her name is Dusk).
Hmmm.. in real life the sky and clouds look a whole lot better.. what's up with that? I used my own technique for doing the clouds. Even though I now have the airbrush system I still prefer to do them "my" way. You can see that here.
Here's a few close ups:
I do love how the roof of the pavillion turned out. Here's a close up of just Dusk:
Look at her with those cute bunnies!! Wouldn't that make an adorable image for Easter?
***EDIT***
If you were here earlier in the week I had mistakingly called this precious angel "Shey".. her name is "Dusk". Huge apologies!! But I did get one thing right.. lol. You can get her at Crafts and Me.

Flower Making Tutorials

I know by now you must all think I am crazed with the videos lately. I was caught up with all (or most I should say) of my DT projects since we had no idea how long we would be staying in TX for Josh's surgery. That's given me some much needed "play" time since we've come home.
Flower making is something I LOVE to do!! There's three videos ( I know, right?!!) so you might want to just go to my YouTube channel and subscribe so you can watch them at your leisure or they are also posted on my Tutorials page. There are so many great flower makers out there and so many fantastic tut's.  You should check out this vid by my friend Tracy  and subscribe to her channel... you will not be disappointed!!  Also Tammy has a great tut you can see at The Outlawz

DDSB Challenge "Anything Goes"

This is my second post today so don't miss my "Tex" card below!! He's a cutey!
Our theme this week at Digi Doodle Shop's Best challenge is "Anything Goes". I know this is the second time in a relatively short time I've colored this fantastic image.. I just love it!! Not only is it a joy to color but it also reminds me of my Father In Law. He had the most amazing iris gardens and whenever he divided them he shared them with me. He's no longer with us but every spring when the Iris start coming up I have to smile.

Here's a close up:

*** Edit***
I've gotten a few emails asking if this background was done with my new airbrush. It wasn't. I am usually weeks ahead on my DT cards so this was created using the technique I show in this video

Here's the rest of the details:
Stamp: Iris - Digi Doodle Shop
Sentiment: - Thinking of You Messages - Hero Arts
Paper: K&Company, Bazzill, Neenah
Ink: Stampabilites Baby Blue
Lace and Rhinestone:  Stash
Misc: Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels Sixteen
Copics:
BV08, BV11, BV13
Y08, Y11
YG63, YG03, Y04

It's a Party and a New Challenge at The Outlawz!

You still have time to head over to The Outlawz and have a chance at winning an amazing array of prizes!! We are celebrating reaching over 300 members (now we are almost at 400!!) Woo Hoo!!
There is a different challenge everyday of the weekend ranging in everything from Scrapbook to Copics. Thursday is my day to bring you the launch of the Prisma and Other Mediums Challenge. This week our challenge is "Anything Goes / Western Theme Optional".
You can use absolutely any medium on any type of project except for Copics/Promarkers (or any of the other "Art" markers). Watercolor markers are fine.
So, I am really loving playing with my Prisma color pencils. Here's what I came up with for your inspiration this week:

I just love this little guy from Mo Manning (available here).
I've done him once before (one of my all time fav's) when my daughter was going to take away the bottle from my grandson. You can see that post here.
I picked up this paper at Michaels. It's by Creative Imaginations and is it perfect for this theme or what?? All I had to add was a greeting which I created using a Rope font you can download for free here. I cut out some of the shapes from the paper, added some Glossy Accents and foam tape to pop them up.. and bam.. that's it!

Here's some close up shots:

I hope this inspired you to giddy up on over to The Outlawz and share your stuff!  You will love our group there, everyone is so friendly!!  It's a great time to be had by all!!

A Couple of Video's

First off I've got to tell you I got the best Valentines Day present!!  My husband got me the Copic ABS and an Air Compressor! We are both really bad about waiting for the "day" of anything to exchange gifts. We've been like that since we were dating and not much has changed. So I got my present Friday night and had the chance to play with it over the weekend.  I haven't had a chance to really perfect any techniques yet but I did discover one of my old products works great for masking and I wanted to share that with you. If I can find a way out of cutting out an image, whether it be the masking film or cardstock, believe me, I WILL find a way!! lol!

Here's a look at the finished card. It was a DT card for One Crazy Stamper and posted yesterday. The name of the stamp is Lucy and Kitty by Sarah Kay from Stampavie.

Click here to watch the video:

Thanks for looking and the flower tut should be up some time soon!

One Crazy Stamper - Lucy and Kitty

Hi everyone! Hope you had a great Valentine's Day! For the month of February our challenge at One Crazy Stamper is "Pink". What could be more perfect? I used a stamp from the Sarah Kay line by Stampavie called Lucy and Kitten.

Isn't she sweet? Here's a few close ups:

 Copics
Skin: E02, E00, E000, R20
Hair: YR24, YR21, Y21,
Pinks: RV00, RV21, RV23, RV25
Pants: B91, B93, B95, B97
Kitty: BV20, BV23, BV25
Background airbrushed with: BG000, BG0000

I've been spending so much time playing with different types of flowers. This is the results of some of that play time. Love these! The only other details I can think of is that she is sitting in a Square and Lacey Square Nestabilities, she was stamped with Memento Ink and the paper is Bo Bunny.
Come back tomorrow and I will hopefully have a few videos edited and uploaded (geesh.. that part takes soooo long!!) of how I masked this image before I airbrushed the background.

Happy Valentines Day!!

I wish you chocolate covered strawberries and champagne!! But you will have to settle for a new challenge from Squigglefly ; )
This week our challenge is a non traditional Valentines with this recipe thrown in:
Purple, Brads, Paper Piercing and hearts.
That's quite a list but it was actually pretty easy. Here's what I came up with:

I just love her! She's got that far away look in her eye. Her name is Fairy Jenna and you can find her here.
Here's a few close ups:

Creating that dot background was a lot of fun. I made a tutorial last month and if you'd like, you can view it here.
The sentiment was computer generated.
I hope you will get the chance to enter the challenge this week. I can't wait to see of those lovely purple creations!!

Digi Doodle Shop - Nature

We have another fun challenge for you this week at Digi Doodle Shop's Best and that's "Nature". I am sure most of you just thought of an animal but one of my favorite things in all of nature are trees and flowers. There are so many realistic images of flowers for you at Digi Doodle Shop. Trying to find a good digi of a hydrangea is how I found the site to begin with! Here it is,  one of my all time favorites:
I wish you could see this in IRL (in real life).. it is so much prettier than it pictured! I almost feel like I cheated on this card and here's why. I've had this idea percolating for awhile to print a digi on Vellum. I've colored other images on Vellum with my Copics and yes,, you can get color. But I didn't think I'd be able to achieve the look I had envisioned. One of my long time loves is working with graphics. So I played with my trusty Paint Shop Pro (I know.. just can't make the jump to Photoshop.. I am sooo familiar with PSP!!) and colored it with gradient fills. It took awhile because I did each petal (yes.. petal.. not flower..lol) but it was so worth the effort!! Is there no end to the things we can do with these wonderful images??
Here's a few close ups:

I also got to play with my new Martha Stewart Score Board to create those embossed lines. All in all this was a really fun project and I hope you like it.
Now... head to your crafty place and make something so you can play along with us this week at Digi Doodle Shop's Best!

Spots or Stripes?

Or both!! That's our challenge this week at The Outlawz Prisma and Other Mediums (POM). Btw.. you do NOT have to use Prismas. I think that name is now interchangeable with ANY colored pencils. I seriously forgot I had this paper (Cosmo Cricket "Snorkel") when I set this challenge, but look how perfect it works!!
I just adore Kiki Fairy from Mo Manning!! That little impish smile makes ME smile everytime!!

I've really been having fun learning how to use my Prisma colored pencils to achieve all the shading and highlights I love.  I don't think I have quite nailed it down yet but practicing is so much fun!! I colored this and then used OMS (ordorless Mineral Spirits) to blend it out with paper stumps.
Here's a few close ups:
I used Dorcas' tutorial on how to create those clouds. She is by far the queen of Prisma coloring and I bow to her skills ; )
You can view ALL of her amazing tut's on The Outlawz and also on her blog.
Just a close up of the sentiment. I cut the bottom layer with "Sparkle #1" from Sizzix, next layer is the smallest scallop circle Nestie and finally top layer is 1 1/2" EK Success Circle punch. Sorry, but I love details!! When I go to someone elses blog I just LOVE when they share their tricks!
Other than some buttons, Stickles, Stardust Sakura pen and white gel pen doodling I think that is it.
Ok, to recap...
Prisma and Other Mediums Challenge "Spot or Stripes (or both!!)
You can use absolutely any technique you want, except for Copics/Promarkers. We have a weekly challenge every week just for those. I've been having a ball playing with all my "stuff"!
Come on over and join the fun!!

Blue / Purple Iris

You are going to be seeing this Iris later in the month for one of my DT cards for Digi Doodle Shop's Best. The digi is available at Digi Doodle Shop. It's not often I get to play in a challenge "just for fun" anymore. I had seen the challenge at Make It Colorful earlier in the week and it just wouldn't go away.. lol! The challenge is "Blend Blue and Purple Together". It really got it hooks in me.. and just kept yanking!!! Finally this evening I got a chance to color just for me! Here's what I came up with:

I knew I wanted to do this Iris just because you do see this color variation in nature. I couldn't decide between the iris and hydrangea but I have a hydrangea card posting tomorrow!
Here's a few close ups:

Copics:
Iris: B32, V15 and V17, Y04, Y08
Greenery: YG11, YG13, YG03, YG67
Background: BG10, BG000, BG0000, B00

I played with this challenge with Prisma's also but have to wait until that DT card posts tomorrow ; )
I think that's it except to go get into the challenge!!
