This was done for a lesson in Life Book at Willowing.ning.com. The lesson was taught by Jodi Ohl. I used graphite, charcoal, acrylics, watercolor crayons and collage. This was after I had to gesso the whole face and start over. Below is my background and sketch I started with and I love the background and ink splatters I got on it from spraying inks through a mask:

I wish I still had her.. lol! She's still here but under all that paint. At least I took a photo : )

Art Journal using "pulled art". Create the background first with sprayed inks, splatters, collage and then see what shapes appear like finding shapes in the clouds. Was a lot of fun and I wish I had a pic of just the background before the mermaid was painted. The entire shape was there, I just had to add a "rock" for her to rest on.
