Digi Doodle Shop - Birthdays!

Well, this is my very last post as part of the DT for Digi Doodle Shop's Best but I am going out with a bang! A big Birthday bang celebration!!  Digi Doodle Shop is 1 year old!! So our challenge this week is "Birthdays!!"
You will probably see this stamp from a lot of our DT as it was just freshly created and perfect for our challenge!!
He is  called "Special Delivery".
With having so much white this was very simple to color. Here's a close up:
Skin: E11, E02, E00, R02
Pants: E74, E71, E70
Shoes: C9, C7, C5
Hat and Shirt: BV20
Apron: BG10

The balloons were stamped with my Big and Juicy embossing pad and embossed with clear powder. Cut out, popped up and strings attached.
It has been a blast being a part of this amazing DT! I will of course stay in touch with all you girls and continue to play in the challenges!!! Congratulations to Judy and her mom and I wish you continued success!! Thanks for all of the great art that you create!

The Outlawz POM Faux or Real Stitching Challenge

Lots of DT cards today, so browse around ; )
Our challenge for you this week at The Outlawz POM Challenge is real or faux stitching. Well, mine definitely has to be faux. Our sewing machine went kapput a while back and we've yet to replace it.
I thought this adorable image from Diane Carubia called Bumpkin  available at Squigglefly was perfect for some faux stitching!!
She was colored with my Prismacolor pencils and OMS. Here's a close up:
Here's the list of the colors I used:
That was an easier way to keep track. Might start doing that with my Copics too! Next time I'll make sure it's a little bit better piece of scrap paper.. lol!
Here's the flower:

You can see how I made that in my Flower tutorials in my sidebar. It's the first vid in the series of three.

Guest DT for Mad For Markers!!

Lots of posts today, so please browse around to catch them all ; )
I was so thrilled when Sammi contacted me to be Guest DT for the month of April for Mad For Markers. You will find a lot of great Copic tutorials and references!!
The challenge this month is to color with the Copic color families of YR, RV and BG.
Well, those are some of my fav color combos for hair and clothes so that was a breeze!! I used Sweet Anya:
I used my Sizzix brass stencils/embossing plates to make those hearts, frame and the hugs/kisses panel. After I embossed them I airbrushed them with RV25 and then glued them to Tim Holtz Grungeboard. Then I cut those out, distressed the edges, added Glossy Accents and ArtDeco GlamourDust. I punched the two hearts with my Crop O Dile to make them look more like buttons and added twine with beads. I also airbrushed my white Brads with BG78 (or it might have been BG75).

Here's a few close ups:

Skin: YR01, YR00, YR0000 (new combo for me and I really like it!!) and R20
Hair: E99, YR24, YR21, YR31
Shirt: RV25, RV23, RV21, RV00
Pants: BG72, BG13, BG10

This was such a fun challenge!! I sure hope you'll head over and play along!

Stampavie Fairy Kiki

I've got one last chance this month to inspire you to pop over and join our challenge and also to head over to the store and see all of the amazing new items Lora has been adding!!

Ok, so some of you that have been faithfully following my blog may realize by now that I am not a stickler for following guidelines (snicker!!). I am by no means a rebellious person, I just think of them more as "suggestions". I was putting this card together and once again, almost (it was very, very close!) forgot to follow the sketch! But luckily, I caught myself in time and cut my paper (oohhh.. it is so pretty!!!) into the three sections!
Can I tell you how thrilled I am that OCS is carrying the Stampavie rubber of some of Mo' Manning's images? This is one of my all time fav's!! She's called Kiki Fairy.
I told you that paper is gorgeous!! That is from Kaisercraft . Yummy!! Lora has some great deals on Patterned Paper right now in the clearance section!! Some are as low as .49 cents for 12x12 paper!! I distressed the edges with Tim Holtz Distress Inks. I happened to use Broken China and Faded Jeans. My image was stamped with Memento Ink in Tuxedo Black and then colored with my Prismacolor Pencils and OMS.

She was cut out using Spellbinders Circle and Scallop Circles Nestabilities.

Good luck on winning that $25 Gift Certificate prize for winning the challenge!!
One last picture!! Here's a close up of that flower:

Squigglefly "Make Your Own Papers"

What a fun challenge we have for you at Squigglefly this week!!
We would like to see you Make Your Own Papers.
I love making papers!!! It is actually what got me obsessed with cardmaking. Before that I was making jewelry. I was working on some charms and wanted some cool papers to sandwich behind the glass charms I was soldering. I started playing in my stepmoms craft shop and the rest is history!! A lot of products have come on the market since I bought my first rubber stamp 15 or so years ago!!
Here's my card:
I created my background paper using my Copic markers. You can see a tutorial here
The stamp is Bunny Basket and I adore it!! Here's a close up:
Here's the Copics I used:
The flowers are handmade (no die) and you can see how I made those here.
I hope you will pop over to the Squigglefly Challenge blog and show us what you can do with paper!!!
Oops.. almost forgot to add my Copics vs Prismas pic!! This one is so close I almost can't tell the difference! (Copics on the left)

Digi Doodle Shop - Ribbons and Bows

This week our challenge for you at Digi Doodle Shop's Best is "Ribbons and Bows".  That makes me automatically think of feminine and girly projects. But I went a totally different route because this is one of those images I've really been wanting to color. I love this still life scene!!
Isn't that fabulous?? This is one I think I could blow up to a 8x10 and spend weeks coloring! It is called Canned Peaches.
Here's a close up:
Everything was colored with Copics except the wallpaper, which was paper pieced. The curtains were a lot of fun!! After adding the basic plaid design with my Copics I went in and highlighted the white areas with my white gel pen.
I've been working on about 6 projects at the same time so about every marker I own is on my desk. Sorry I don't have a list of the ones I used.
I cannot wait to see what you come up with for this fun challenge!!

Elisabeth Bell Little Rapunzel

This week our challenge for you at The Outlawz POM group is Sparkle and Shine!! I used Rapunzel (digi) from Elisabeth Bell and colored her with Prismacolor Pencils.
I got my shine and sparkle in a lot of different ways. First off when I think of shine, my first thought is hair!!! (snicker)
Here's an angle close up of the flowers just so you can see it really is sparkly.. lol!

Here's some of the other items I used to get Sparkle and Shine:
1) Silver embossing powder adhered to the paper with both my Big Juicy embossing pad and also with my Glaze pen by Sakura.
2) Stickles
3) Rhinestones
4) Silver flat backed pearls
5) Sakura Stardust Pen

Here's the colors of Prisma's I used with OMS:
Skin: Peach 939, Light Peach 927, Nectar 1092, Pink 929, Blush Pink 928
Hair: Terra Cotta 944, Goldenrod 1034, Ginger Root 1084

Vintage Tilda

The very last thing I should be doing is a card for "fun" but sometimes you just gotta do what you gotta do ; )
I've had this Tilda for awhile and can you believe I've never inked her once?? What??
Oh my Lord!! This card has sooo many of my favorite things!! I love  that Melissa Frances frame and have been hording it for way too long!!
Look at it!! It's gorgeous, isn't it??
I think you could just plunk that down on a piece of scrap paper and have a fab card!! I love them!!!
Here's a close up of just Tilda:
And here's those flowers:
You can see how I make those here.  My desk is still covered with just about every Copic I own!! So sorry, no list!

There is still plenty of time to enter our Sketch challenge this month at One Crazy Stamper. Here is Jacilynn's fantastic sketch:
And thanks to some prompting (ok.. it was more like teasing!!) of my good friend Brenda, this time I actually followed the sketch ; )
This is a Sugarplum called Cherry Emma. Oh man.. I just love her!!!  Her hair was soooo much fun to color with my Copics after she was stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.
Here's a close up of those flowers:
You can see how I make those here.
And here's close ups of her colored in both Copics and Prismacolor Pencils:

Skin: E11, E02, E00, E000, R20
Hair: E19, E99, E97
Shirt: Y17, Y13, Y11, R27, R22
Pants: G05, YG06, YG11

Prismacolor Pencils and OMS

Prisma Color Chart Excercise

Morning everyone and Happy Sunday!! It's been soooo long since I've posted an actual post (not a prescheduled one!!) so it's nice to be able to chat in the "now". So just a few updates... yesterday I took my Copic Certification!! It was so much fun and I met so many great ladies! I even got to meet one of my cyber friends, Sherry, IRL! How cool is that and neither of us even knew we were both attending or that we lived so close! Sadly she will be moving soon but we will always have cyberspace!! Our class was taught by the amazing Lori Craig and she was wonderful!!! Class was fun, well organzied and most of all, informative!!! I had no idea we would get so many supplies and brochures!  I met a lot of new friends, colored and learned. What better way to spend a Saturday afternoon?
My second reason for this post is this Prisma Color Chart from Paula Tracy. You can find it in her Tutorial Section uncolored.
Edit 8/25/2012
It seems Paula no longer has her chart available and I do not have a blank copy. I was able to find another version and you can view that here.
You can use this chart:
1) to Color in the colors you have so you can see what colors you need to complete your set
2) For accurate color swatches for matching to projects, papers, etc. Printed versions will always be inaccurate.
3) If you want to stretch yourself I used mine as a coloring exercise to have totally saturated color on the right side of the box and colored lighter and lighter as I got to the left for a graduated blend. I really did notice a huge improvement in my ability to do this by the time I got to the last tray of colors. Vary where you hold your pencil. If you hold it way at the end away from the coloring point you are naturally not able to place as much pressure and you can achieve that light touch.
Well, that's all.. just wanted to share. Now off for Family Fun Day!! Woo Hoo!!

Digi Doodle Shop - Anything Goes!

We have another "Anything Goes" challenge for you at Digi Doodle Shop's Best!! I chose this Vintage lady (very Art Deco looking!!) The stamp set comes with two images!
I love the way this turned out and never realized how much this stamp matches the papers I made last year!! You can grab that here if you would like:
I added some Wild Honey to the papers to keep it with the whole deep red and mustard theme.
Here's a few close ups:
She was colored with my Copics:
Skin: E00, E000, R20
Dress: Hat and Shoes: R89, R37, R32, YR24, YR21
Wrap: Y28, R32 and Stardust Stickles

The Outlawz Girlz "Green"

That's our challenge for you today at The Outlawz POM (Prismas and Other Mediums) group, "Green". You can interpret that however you would like. You can use the color green or you can "Go Green" and used recycled products. I had every intention of doing the latter but ended up using simply the color green. Here's my card:
There's a little coloring on here, but not much.  That amazing sentiment is from McMahon Five Design.  I LOVE it!!!
The flower I made following the steps by my friend Tracy and you can see her tutorial here. I used my Lacey Circle Nesties in the smallest 3 sizes. Here's a close up:
The possibilities are endless!! Don't forget to check out her blog also!!
I hope this encourages you to all gallop on over to The Outlawz and join in the fun!!!
