Mixed Media Post Cards

I've had this stack of post card size (6"x4") index cards sitting on my desk for months now.  I was invited to be part of a Google+ group called The ICWIC Crew which stands for Index Card When I Can as opposed to Index Card A Day.  I was never an index card maker and stick mostly to art journals BUT this is a great chance to start creating some art to send friends. Who doesn't want to receive some DLP fodder? So I got my first two done today (and yes, they are already addressed and ready to drop in the mail tomorrow! YAY!!)
So this challenge is for myself. I'm thinking two a week isn't unreasonable until I get a few other things out of the way and then I should be able to do more.
I filmed the first one. If you want to watch you can see it here
So here's #1
and here's #2
Thanks for swinging by!

More Progress

For me working on a painting is like meeting a new friend. We're just getting to know each other at the moment. She's seems to be listening so intently to her little bird friend as they share secrets.
I'm taking my time as we get more comfortable with each other ;)

Current WIP

This is my current work in progress that I started while hanging out with the family and watching parts of the Olympics. My grandson even helped with some of the spray ink parts. I can't go near my spray inks when he's around without him wanting to help. Which usually ends with both of us getting a spray in the face at least once ;)
I make my own spray inks with Daler Rowney FW Acrylic Inks. LOVE them!!

I know I should be heading to bed but I have a feeling I'll be back up in a few hours to start slinging paint! I can't wait!!

A Few More Details

I posted this painting  last month with the title "Finished or Not".  I knew she wasn't complete but was at a loss for how to complete her (it).
I've been hugely into digital art and graphics for years. At one point (maybe 15 years ago?)  I had a website with my girlfriend called Two Moms Graphics. Same as I always do, just for fun and for free but we had a blast creating Outlook Stationary (remember when you could make your emails all pretty and stuff? lol) and web page backgrounds/graphics. Then of course the "free" web hosting sites back then started charging money and we were after all, literally "two moms". But my love for graphics and digital art has never waned. I try very hard to find my way around Photoshop but way "back in the day" Paint Shop Pro was the elite program. That along with Microsoft Publish It were my playgrounds. Sadly both are gone. Publish It can't even be installed on a Windows 7 computer (my girlfriend who I had the website with won't upgrade to 7 for that very  All that to say, I am no stranger to graphics. I've just never merged my traditionally created art (physical paper, brush and paints) with digital art... until now!

I tend not to put words on my art unless I'm doing it for a particular challenge like the NaNoJouMo hosted by Dawn DeVries Sokol every November. She may end up with more "stuff" but for today I'm calling her done.
Thanks for coming by and if you read all of this you deserve a prize or at least a {{{hug}}} !
